although conj.
though adv.
Although/Though he is poor he is happy. (这里的he is happy 可以用he is still happy, 但不能用 but he is happy)
He is happy although/though he is poor.
Although/though he was very sick, he still went to work.
Although/Though it was raining, he went there.
We will go hiking tomorrow though it rains.
Though everyone gives up on you, I won't.
even though=even if 虽然,尽管
Even though he is poor, he is happy.
Even if everyone gives up on you, I won't.
as though 好像
When the policeman came, she cried as though she was the victim.
The dog was walking as though it had hurt its leg.
She didn't tell me how she got the promotion, but i know it though.
It is a small bag, but it cost a lot, though.
上一课讲的despite, in spite of 和 although, though 都有尽管的意思。despite/in spite of 后面接名词,动名词,代词。而although/though引导的是让步状语从句。
Despite/In spite of being very sick, he still went to work.
Although/Though he was very sick, he still went to work.
Although/Though he left her, she still loved him.
Despite/In spite of the fact that he left her, she still loved hime.
